The Spanish Princess
The Spanish princess is a show on the Starz app. It’s based on the book “The constant Princess” by Philipa Gregory. The book and show are about Catherine Of Aragon as princess of Wales. She is the first wife of King Henry VIII and the daughter of Isable of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon. The New World

In the first episode “ The New World” we are introduced to the characters. Queen Isabel is fighting a war for her daughter, Cathrine of Aragon to go to England to get married with prince Arthur. In England, everyone is awaiting the arrival of Cathrine. Cathrine arrives to England. She tries to keep her customs but Margaret Beufort tries to install English customs on her first day. The Princess finds out the letters that were written to her weren’t from Arthur. Henry (Arthur’s brother) is the one who wrote them. Cathrine meets the rest of the royal family. Arthur and Cathrine get married at Westminster Abbey.

I had hoped that in the first episode we would have seen Cathrine’s childhood, maybe even her birth but by the first episode she was 15.

The second episode Arthur and Cathrine are finally married. At the Banquet the royal family celebrates the festivity. There is a lot of dancing. Cathrine apologizes to Margaret Pole about her brother Edward. Prince Henry and Arthur seem jealous of each other. Princess Margaret gets engaged to King James of Scotland. Arthur and Catherine are having trouble conceiving their marriage. Prince Arthur and princess Cathrine arrive to Ludlow to rule the principality. They finally Conceive their marriage. The couple’s relationship gets better. A plague is going through England and one of Cathrine’s ladies falls ill. Arthur catches the plague as well. Lina (Cathrine’s lady) survives but sadly Arthur dies.

The third episode starts with Arthur’s funeral. Everyone is wondering if Catherine is pregnant. Which she is not. King Henry VII and Queen Elizabeth are stressed and worried about plots against them. Prince Henry and Catherine are falling for each other. Cathrine’s ladies are talking to men that are trying to court them. Henry is determined to marry Catherine. Elizabeth of York gives birth to a stillborne and dies. It seems sad to me that Elizabeth of York died in childbirth, she had a rough life.

There are rumors that the King Henry VII is dead but he is not, he is just in the tower depressed. Cathrine tries to comfort the prince. Lady Margaret Beufort makes herself regent and kicks out Catherine and her household off the palace. Catherine is getting used to her new house. Princess Margaret is getting ready to go to Scotland to marry King James. Edmund De La Pole, a Yorkiest is trying to invade England.Prince Henry visits Catherine quite often at her new house. Edmund tries to capture Margaret Pole, she tells him “she is neither against or for him” and she escapes. King Henry is Back. Princess Margaret is sent on her way to Scotland. King Henry has a feast and invites Catherine, he announces that he will be marrying catherine leaving everyone in shock.

In my opinion Lady Margaret Beufort is getting on my nerves and I can’t believe what King henry announced.
Heart Versus Duty
Prince Henry is upset with the king. The king tries to court Catherine which she doesn’t like. Everybody is suspicious of Margaret Pole communication with her cousin Edmund. Prince Henry is wondering if Catherine wants to marry his father or him. Princess Margaret has arrived to Scotland. Prince Henry is convincing Catherine not to marry the king. Margaret Beufort is trying to capture Edmund.

Rosa (Catherine’s lady in waiting) is pregnant. Finally Catherine convinces the king she would make a better wife for the prince instead.
It’s astonishing that the king wanted to marry Catherine, he was also still in morning and so much older than her.

Margaret Pole’s husband dies. While awaiting her dowerey, Isabel dies as well. Due to Queen Isabel’s death, Juana (Catherine’s older sister) became queen.

On her voyage to Spain she had a shipwreck and had to stop in England. Juana has been having Jealous outrage of her husband at the English court. Margaret is having a down fall losing everything she owns. Rosa is not going to get help from lord Stanford. Catherine is trying to convince Juana for her dowry and show her that she is a true sister. Rosa has a miscarriage, it seems everyone is having a downfall. I honestly think Juana is obsessed with Phillip and is not a true sister. I feel bad for Margaret Pole she is always going through mourning and losing someone close to her.
All Is Lost

If you thought everybody was having a downfall on episode 6 wait til you get hold of episode 7. Margaret pole gets kicked out of her house with her children. The Princess is is forbidden to enter the castle and is told that the prince is engaged to her niece. Edmund Pole is invading England At the end of the episode all hope seems to come back. Joana’s husband dies of a fever making her go crazy. So her father is once again King of Spain and he agrees to give Catherine the dowry.

Lina gets engaged to Oviedo. Margaret finds a place to stay with one of her cousins and is determined to get revenge on the Tudors. I like how Catherine didn’t give up and kept fighting. I think that Margaret Pole has every right of being vengeful towards the Tudors after all they caused her so much harm.

Catherine is practicing her rule as a future queen saving/helping all her friends. Prince Henry is now King HenryVIII and making arrangements to wed Catherine. Margaret Beufort is on her deathbed. Catherine receives a letter from her sister. What was in the letter was so unexpected. I honestly think they both slept with each other’s siblings. Lady margaret got the downfall and death she deserved.
