Road Trip 22

Road Trip 22

For my 22nd birthday we planned a last minute road trip to Cleburne, Texas to see the “Gone with the wind museum”. My family and I decided 2 days before our trip to go to the museum and “Six flags over Texas” in Arlington. The road trip started with great music and stories in the car. We left home like at 5 am, we arrived to Cleburne around 8 am and stopped to eat at Ihop. We finished around ten and headed on our way to the museum.

As soon as I arrived to the museum, I could see the building was “Gone with the wind theme and they had fantastic wall art of scenes from the movie. We went inside paid ten dollars to get in and started to tour the museum.

The first thing i noticed were the many dolls they had with different costumes and characters from the movie. They had plush, porcelain, and different material dolls, including a background.

The main doll and picture that caught my attention was Scarlett in her blue dress the items left me in awe, its from my favorite scene from the movie the color and material were so beautiful.

In the museum they even had real props from the movie, they even had some of the actor’s items that once belonged to them even stuff signed. They had pictures of the actors while filming and other pictures of them throughout their career including their stories. There was a small theater room where the “Gone with the wind” movie was being played and people could go sit in there and watch the movie.

After our tour of the museum we headed to Arlington, Texas to go to “Six flags over Texas”. If you live in Texas I recommend buying the season pass, it’s cheaper than buying the daily pass because you can go back and visit during other vacation times. I don’t like heights or am I a person that likes rides but my siblings convinced me to get on them. My favorite rides were the “ Runaway mountain” and “La vibora”. I wanted to get on “ El aserradero” but it was closed. They had good food I got buffalo chicken strips with bacon ranch fries it was so delicious. I recommend to get the six flags cup on the day of purchasing the cup you get free refills all day.

My family and I stayed late at six flags by the time we got to our hotel we we’re so exhausted.  We stayed at the Best Western hotel it wasn't that bad just that the mattresses were a little hard, but the room was less than $200 and wan’t far from six flags. In the morning we ate breakfast in the lobby than headed home. Traffic was bad because it was the last weekend of spring break. Overall the road trip was an amazing experience.
